ZZZ PROJECTS C# Eval Expresssion
ZZZ PROJECTS C# Eval Expresssion is the most powerful C# expression evaluator to execute C# code and dynamic LINQ at runtime
ZZZ PROJECTS C# Eval Expresssion features:
- Execute C# Code - C# is a powerful programming language, but it does not include an eval method like some other languages, such as JavaScript.
The C# Eval Expression library is the best solution to overcome this limitation. It lets you quickly evaluate code at runtime with very little code on your side.
This is especially useful when working with dynamic logic such as user input, formulas, or rules that you don’t want to hardcode or recompile.
- Compile C# Code - When executing the same expression multiple times with the Execute method, it is already fast, as we retrieve the compiled method from the cache.
However, it still takes some time because we need to create a cache key, which has a performance cost. So when you need to execute the same expression multiple times, you should store the compiled method in a local or static variable.
How much faster? Using directly the compiled method returned from the Compile directly can be 1000x faster than using the Execute method. It surely does not make any difference if you are only looping over 10 items, as both ways, it will take nearly 0ms. However, if you need to evaluate millions of items, it makes a massive difference between a few milliseconds and a few seconds.
- LINQ Dynamic - LINQ is an incredibly powerful way to query data. It allows developers to write code that is both expressive and easy to read. However, one thing that is missing is the ability to use LINQ with dynamic expressions.
Indeed, you can use LINQ for most of your queries, but what should you do if you want to allow your users to dynamically filter a list for a report? This is where using LINQ Dynamic through the C# Eval Expression library starts to shine.
